How Does the ‘Key Rescue’ Service Work

 

·          If you lose or misplace your ‘Key Ring’ and it is found by a third party, Safe & Found will pay the finder a reward in exchange for returning your ‘Key Ring’.

·          Safe & Found acts on your behalf as a ‘go between’ to make arrangements to have your ‘Key Ring’ returned, without disclosing your personal contact details.

 

Standard Return Services 

 

Our Standard Service is to:

 

·          Contact you by telephone or email to notify you that your ‘Key Ring’ has been found;

·          Supply contact details of the finder so you can make arrangements to collect it at a time and place that is mutually convenient; and

·          Pay a reward to the finder once it has been returned.

 

Additional Return Services

 

We can offer the following Additional Services on request by you, but charges will apply.  All charges must be paid by credit card, prior to the service being undertaken.  Indicative fees for these services are:

 

·          Return of your ‘Key Ring’ to you by ordinary post - $10 per return.

·          Return of your ‘Key Ring’ to you by courier, registered post or express postal service - $30 per return. Please note, Safe & Found takes reasonable care to deal with reputable service providers, but takes no responsibility for any ‘Key Ring’ which is lost in transit by a courier or postal service.

·          Return to you by personal delivery. Charges will be estimated at time of request. This service is only available in Sydney CBD and Sydney metropolitan areas (inc. Eastern Suburbs, Northern, Southern and Western Suburbs).

·          Pick up from our offices during business hours (Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm EST or ESDT) - $10 per return. For after hours pick up, by appointment only - $15 per return.

 

Important Information About The Service

 

·          Registering your Contact Details – It is your responsibility to correctly register your contact details for the ‘Key Rescue Service’ - see ‘How to Start Using the ‘Key Rescue’ Service’. If you do not register the correct information (including the unique reference number on the reverse of your Key Ring), we cannot provide the service to you. To check your details, contact us on 1800 98 90 38 or at info@safeandfound.com.au 

 

·          Contacting you – If your ‘Key Ring’ is found, we will attempt to contact you using the details you have supplied. If we have attempted to contact with you on 3 occasions and you do not respond, we are under no further obligation to continue trying to contact you.

 

·          Failure to Collect your ‘Key Ring’- If you fail to collect your ‘Key Ring’ from the finder or from us, within 30 days of us contacting you, we are under no obligation to send the ‘Key Ring’ to you unless you instruct us to provide an ‘Additional Service’ – see above. Any ‘Key Ring’ which is left at our office for a period of 60 days from the date we contact you will be destroyed.

 

·          Change of Contact Details - If you change your address or telephone number, it is your responsibility to update this information by contacting us on 1800 98 90 38 or advising us of  your new contact details online at info@safeandfound.com.au  Please ensure you include the unique reference number that can be found on the reverse of your Key Ring.

 

·          Period of the Service - The service runs for a period of 5 years from the date you register – see ‘How to Start Using the ‘Key Rescue’ Service’. We reserve the right to cease providing the service at any time by giving you 14 days prior written notice.  No ‘Key Rescue’ users shall be entitled to any payment by way of compensation should Safe & Found decide to terminate or cease the service.

 

·          No Guarantee of Return - Safe & Found offers a great incentive for the return of a lost ‘Key Ring’ but cannot guarantee that if you use this service your ‘Key Ring’ will be located and returned in all cases.

 

·          Condition of ‘Key Ring’ replacement– To the extent permitted by law, we will at our option replace or repair any ‘Key Ring’ that you receive from us or a Business Partner, if it is not fit for its purpose at the time it is first supplied to you. We take no responsibility for any ‘Key Ring’ that is returned to us, damaged or defaced or for the loss or damage to the Key Ring or to keys or any other items that were attached to the ‘Key Ring’.

 

·          Security, Safety and Fraudulent Activity – We rely upon the honesty of a third party to locate and return your keys, you must exercise caution to ensure your personal safety at all times when dealing with a finder. We take no responsibility for your safety or for the acts or omissions of any third party who meets with you to return the ’Key Ring’. We may cancel the service at any time if we suspect that you or a third party is misusing the service or engaged in fraudulent activity.

 

How to Start Using the ‘Key Rescue’ Service

 

·          To begin using the service, you must have:

o         a Safe & Found ‘Key Ring’ with a unique ‘Key Ring’ number; and

o         complete the registration section – click here to register.

·          We will send you a confirmation of registration once you have successfully registered with us.

·          If you have more than one Safe & Found ‘Key Ring’ you must complete a separate registration for each one.

 

What Happens to Your Personal Details

 

·          Safe & Found will hold your personal contact details on its confidential and secure database along with your unique ‘Key Ring’ number. You can check the information we hold about you at any time.

·          We do not trade, rent or sell this information. It is used for the purpose of 
provi
ding the ‘Key Rescue’ service to you or to allow Safe & Founds’ service providers to provide services to you.

·          If your ‘Key Ring’ has been given to you by a Business Partner, we may share your personal contact details with them for the purposes of providing this service or to allow them to market their products and services to you. You agree that by registering for this service, we are authorised to share your personal contacts details with them for these purposes.

·          If you don’t provide us with your personal contact details, we cannot provide the ‘Key Rescue’ service to you.
